Passion Projects Rm 16/17 - By Ashleigh McGarry

Over the last three weeks Room16/17 have been working on Passion Projects. First we decided on what we were passionate about, then we chose one we liked most. Next we had to develop three questions that started with "how or why" that were relatable to your topic. Once we had finished our questions we had to get them approved by Ms Matthews, Miss Butler and Andrea.

We would like to acknowledge the parents/grandparents who have guided us on our first Passion projects!

Here are some photos of our learning so far....

Passion Projects - Rm 13-15

Our Passion Projects are well underway for the term.  We have a vast range of topics being worked on.  We have aspiring cooks, artists, language learners, researchers, scooter modifiers, football goal post makers, cat entertainers and much more.  It is amazing to see the students being completely focused on what they are doing and excited by what they are learning.

ROOM 13-15 PASSION PROJECTS

RM 13-15 PASSION PROJECTS
We had a great afternoon working on our passion projects.  It was fair to say the teachers were a little apprehensive about how our first full on making and creating session was going to go, but we were very surprised with how focused everyone was and how hard working.  We had some go-karts being designed and made, a scooter ramp, a raspberry and white chocolate cheesecake, some sewing, some art, stop motion movies, many researching, some learning another language and many more.  Below are some photos of our afternoon.  We are looking forward to what they will share in week 10.

LIFE EDUCATION
This week Hinau classes had their two sessions with the Life Education classroom.  This was a great learning experience.  We learnt about what a reputation is - good and bad.  How we get these.  We learnt about being good friends and being ourselves around our friends.  Below is some photo's in slides of the Hinau classes.

Room 16/17 Writing motivation with our buddy classes

We were lucky enough to be invited to go with our buddy class on their walk to the local Domain. We showed Arohanui to our buddies by holding their had's walking to and from the Domain and by keeping an eye on our buddy the whole time we were there.

Here are some photos from our experience!
